After being without a local grocery store for over two and a half years, residents in Lidgerwood and the surrounding area can now enjoy shopping locally. The new grocery store, called County Line Foods, is open and fully stocked.
After a devastating fire on November 28, 2018 that destroyed the Lidgerwood Market, the Lidgerwood Progressive Development Committee (LPDC) held a number of town hall meetings to hear what it’s residents wanted in a grocery store.
“Not even COVID could stop us from reaching our goal. It was amazing to see how our community and the surrounding area came together to make this possible,” Project Manager Weldon Hoesel said.
The store is currently owned by the LPDC, and is managed by Jerry Arneson.
“I am excited to see all of the support that County Line Foods has received, this is a big project, I don’t want to let anyone down, I want to do a good job, and bring everything back better than it was before,” Arneson said.
Grocery delivery is available for local residents. County Line Foods is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sundays.
