
Wahpeton American Legion Post 20 swept the Fargo Jets in a N.D. Class A Eastern Division doubleheader on Monday in Fargo.
Wahpeton won 14-5 in the first game and 7-4 in the second to improve to 13-2 overall and 5-1 in league play.
In the first game, Wahpeton scored at least one run in each of its seven at-bats.
Isaac Loosmore and Caden Kappes each had 2 hits while Loosmore and Jackson Fliflet drove in 3 runs apiece. Post 20 also took advantage of 5 Fargo errors to score 4 unearned runs.
Ethan Manock gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and struck out 8 in 4 2/3 innings to get the win.
In the second game, Wahpeton scored 3 times in the 2nd inning and 3 more in the seventh for the win.
Fliflet was 3-for-4 while Hunter Wamre and Tori Uhlich had 2 hits. Wamre, Fliflet, Josiah Hofman, Uhlich and Kappes each drove in a run.
Caden Hockert pitched 5 innings for the win, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts. Uhlich got the last 6 outs of the game for the save.
Wahpeton will next host the Fargo Comets in a doubleheader Thursday at John Randall Field starting at 5:30 p.m.
