Former Wahpeton High School standout swimmer Eric Anderson placed 50th in the second wave of the 50-meter freestyle event at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Saturday and ended his quest for a spot in the Summer Olympics.

Anderson swam a time of 23.03 seconds. The final qualifying spot for Sunday had a time of 22.07 seconds.

Anderson won seven N.D. state championships in his high school career with Wahpeton and Fargo Shanley.
