Wahpeton’s B-Legion team jumped out to a 2-0 lead against Breckenridge, but Post 53 broke the game open with a five-run inning to cruise to an 11-3 victory in the Wahpeton Invitational Friday morning.

Connor Twidwell was the star at the plate for Breckenridge with a two-run homer along with a double. Twidwell also pitched all but two-thirds of an inning, striking out seven while giving up two unearned runs and zero hits.

Collin Roberts and Cam Nieto also drove in a pair of runs in the win.

Breckenridge out-hit Wahpeton 11-1 with Thomas Allrich delivering an RBI single with the team’s lone hit.

Breckenridge moves on to face Billings, Montana, at 2 p.m. Saturday and then they play the final game that day at 8 p.m. against the Fargo Bombers.

The Bombers play the Wahpeton B Legion, who has started the tournament 0-2, at 5 p.m. prior to their bout with Breckenridge.
