Wahpeton’s Jackson Fliflet came just a triple short of the cycle on Saturday to lead Post 20 to a 12-4 win over Williston in six innings on the third day of the Watford City Invitational.

Wahpeton, 3-0 in the tournament and 6-1 on the season, advances to Sunday’s championship game with the opponent and time yet to be determined.

Wahpeton has beaten its first three opponents in the tournament by a combined 41-8 score.

Fliflet hit a two-run home run in the first inning, singled in a run in the third inning and ended the game by the 8-run mercy rule with a double in the sixth.

Caden Kappes and Josiah Hofman each had 2 hits for Wahpeton with Kappes driving in 2 runs.

Wahpeton scored 5 times in the bottom of the fourth inning to break open a close game.

Caden Hockert pitched the first four innings for the win, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits and struck out 5.

Ethan Manock struck out 4 in two innings of relief.
