
Breckenridge’s baseball team entered the final inning of their Minn. Section 8AA play-in game trailing 3-1 on Tuesday at Cowboy Field. The Cowboys rallied to keep their season alive with a four-run inning, capped off by a walk-off two-RBI double from Cooper Yaggie.
Jacob Vizenor also had a two-RBI hit in the rally, dropping a single to tie the game.
Breckenridge had four of their seven hits on the night in the final inning. Jayce Werner ripped three singles for the Cowboys in the win.
Connor Twidwell pitched the first three innings with Yaggie taking over for the rest of the seven-inning game, striking out 10 batters in the process.
All of Pelican Rapids’ runs came in the top of the sixth.
The 15-5 Cowboys move on to face Perham on Thursday at Wadena-Deer Creek High School. The tournament is double elimination.
