The Wahpeton Huskies boys track team took second at the Valley City Invite on Thursday. Wahpeton tallied 92.5 points with Kindred winning the meet with 220.5.

The Lady Huskies claimed sixth place with 55.83 points and Carrington took the meet title with 162.

Jacob DeVries won the javelin with a throw of 155-feet-10-inches.

The Wahpeton boys 4×100 finished .26 seconds behind first-place Kindred to take second with a time of 45.65. Nathan Worrell, Blake Schafer, Beau Arenstein and Shea Truesdell represented Wahpeton in the sprint relay.

Schafer and Truesdell also made up half of a second-place 4×400 relay along with Gus Lasch and Jacob Bartels. They finished the race in 3:46.60.

Bartels also picked up a third-place finish in the 300 hurdles in a time of 43.45.
Ethan Manock continued to shine in the throwing events, taking third in discus with a toss of 132-feet-2-inches.

For the Lady Huskies, Quinn Bassingthwaite took home a first-place finish with a personal-best 9 feet in pole vault.

Kilee Bladow, Sydney Mahrer, Kinsey Pedersen and Sidnie Pulskamp teamed up to finish second in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:53.99. Bladow had another second-place finish in high jump with a leap of 4-feet-7-inches.
