Wahpeton sophomore Ethan Manock had the second-best javelin throw in Class A this spring to win the event at the Fargo Rotary Invitational.

Manock had a top throw of 173 feet, 8 inches to win the event and automatically qualify for the state meet. The only better throw was Logan Arason of Grand Forks Red River at 178-7 back in late March.

The Huskies also picked up a third-place finish from Jacob Bartels in the 300 hurdles in 42.42 seconds, a fifth from Shea Truesdell in the poll vault at 12 feet and seventh-place finishes from Bartels in the 110 hurdles at 17.05 seconds and Manock in the discus at 129-6.

The Huskies placed 10th overall in the meet.

The Lady Huskies were led by Kinsey Pedersen, who finished third in the 400 meter dash in 1 minute, 4.61 seconds.

Scout Woods placed fifth in the shot put at 36-3 and Kilee Bladow was sixth in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 9 inches.

The Lady Huskies also placed 10th.
