The Red River Area Sportsmen’s Club met on Thursday, February 18th at the Wahpeton Community Center. The Neil Heitkamp Youth Ice Fishing Derby is scheduled for Saturday, February 20th at Heitkamp Pond. Wal Mart has sponsored recent Junior Wildlife Club activities including air rifle shooting by T.J. and Mandy Steinberger this month. It was announced that the club donated $1000 to Chahinkapa Zoo on Giving Hearts Day. Shea Truesdell will be honored with an Eagle Scout Award on Sunday at Hughes Shelter for building several benches along the Red River at the Kidder Recreation Area. The North Dakota Hunter Education classes are being offered at Hughes Shelter, starting on Monday, March 8th. Interested participants, who must be at least age 11, can register on the North Dakota Game and Fish website.
