The Wahpeton Huskies used a 12-5 run to end the game Friday for a 73-65 win over Devils Lake in Eastern Dakota Conference boys basketball.

The Huskies snapped a three-game losing streak with the win, improving to 7-6 overall and 7-6 in EDC play.

Wahpeton jumped out to an early 10-point lead and lead by five at the half. The winless Firebirds hung around in the second half, getting as close at 61-60 with six minutes to play. But Wahpeton senior Tyler Tollefson hit a 3-pointer on Wahpeton’s next possession to begin its final 12-5 run.

Desire Munezero led the Huskied with 23 points while Tollefson scored 19. Jaxon Berndt added 11 points, with nine coming in the second half on three 3-pointers. Ethan Manock came off the bench to score nine points.

Wahpeton has a busy week next week. The Huskies play at Fargo South on Tuesday, host Fargo North on Friday and host Breckenridge on Saturday.
