Williston State College outscored the North Dakota State College of Science Wildcats 45-33 in the second half Monday for an 83-72 win in Williston, sending NDSCS to its first loss of the season.
The Wildcats had averaged 92.5 points in its first two games.
Tied at 60-60 with eight minutes to play, the Tetons grabbed a lead with an 8-2 run and the Wildcats never could recover.
Ty Horner scored 19 points to lead NDSCS and added seven rebounds.
Connor Hollenbeck had 12 points and 11 rebounds while JaQuan Sanders-Smith scored 10 points.
NDSCS shot just 28 percent from the 3-point line (6 of 21).
The Wildcats are next at home, hosting Miles Community College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
