The Neil Heitkamp Annual Youth Ice Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2021. The Derby is sponsored by the Red River Area Sportsmen’s Club. Club spokesperson Greg Gerou said that this years event will be held on Heitkamp Pond “just Northeast of Minn Dak.” Registration will be held at noon with the derby running from 1:00 PM till 3:00 PM. Gerou said there will be door prizes for all participants along with hot dogs and hot chocolate served at the event site. Participants are asked to bring their own gear, however there will be equipment available for those without it.
