The City of Wahpeton and mayor Steve Dale announced on Friday that it would be officially lifting its mask mandate starting today.

Dale and the city declared a state of emergency on March 23 due to the pandemic and extended that state of emergency on Feb. 15.

With North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum lifting the statewide mask mandate today, the city will rescind the executive order requiring masks in public settings.

Despite the rescinding of the order, businesses still have the right to require face coverings if they choose to do so.
