Wahpeton senior Tyler Tollefson led four Huskies in double figures with 26 points and Wahpeton was 19 of 22 on free throws to beat Valley City 78-67 on Friday at Wahpeton High School.
The Huskies improved to 5-2 overall and 5-2 in the EDC with the win.
Tollefson scored 26 points for Wahpeton, including going 8 of 8 from the free throw line.
Senior Desire Munzero added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists while going 8 of 13 from the field and 6 of 6 on free throws.
Senior Bridger Hansen chipped in 15 points, team highs of 7 assists and 7 steals and 4 rebounds in the win and fellow senior Carter Hoerer scored 10 points.
Wahpeton led most of the first half, but trailed 45-40 with 12 minutes to play in the game. Tied at 54-54, the Huskies scored five straight points and were able to push the lead to as many as 12 in the final minutes.
Wahpeton plays at No. 3 ranked West Fargo Sheyenne today at 5 p.m.
