The Wahpeton Huskies rallied from a 15-point deficit early in the second half to beat Fargo South 77-74 on Thursday at Wahpeton High School to pick up their first win of the season.

Wahpeton trailed 48-33 before slowly closing the gap, taking its first lead since 2-0 at 66-65 with just over 4 minutes to play. The Huskies led 74-70 with 1:48 to go and made enough free throws down the stretch to ice the win.

Wahpeton senior Desire Munezero continued his hot start to the season with 24 points while fellow senior Bridger Hansen added 20 points, 16 coming in the second half to help lead Wahpeton’s rally.

Senior Tyler Tollefson scored 14 points and sophomore Ethan Manock added 12 off the bench.

Wahpeton will remain at home to host Devils Lake at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
