Breckenridge superintendent Cordes announces she will retire

The Breckenridge School Board will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at which time it is expected to officially accept the retirement of school superintendent Diane Cordes.
The resignation will take affect at the end of this school year.
This year marks the eighth year Cordes has led the Breckenridge school district after taking over the position in June of 2013.
Cordes, 55, has been battling ovarian cancer since 2016.
Cordes told the school board of her decision to retire in a special school board meeting on Thursday.
The school board will also likely accept the hires of several assistant coaches, including Jordan Christensen as assistant varsity boys basketball coach, Dominique Schuler as 9th grade girls basketball coach and Carter Gilles, Treyton Hought and Matthew Ziebell as volunteer wrestling coaches,
Tuesday’s school board meeting will be at 4 p.m. at the Breckenridge Elementary Gymnasium.
