Cowboys fall to Trojans in battle of unbeatens

The Barnesville Trojans scored the final 22 points Friday night for a 44-22 win over the Breckenridge Cowboys in a battle of 4-0 teams at Cowboy Field.
The Cowboys had leads of 6-0 and 14-6 at halftime in the game.
Breckenridge’s first score was 9-yard touchdown pass from Cooper Yaggie to Dylan Bernotas.
After Barnesville tied the game in the second quarter, Daniel Erlandson scored on a 1-yard run and Sebastian Anderson caught a 2-point conversion pass for a 14-6 halftime lead for the Cowboys.
Barnesville scored twice in the third quarter to take its first lead of the game before the Cowboys responded with an 80-yard touchdown drive, capped by a Yaggie 20-yard touchdown run for a 22-22 tie.
But injuries began taking their toll on the Cowboys in the fourth with several starters leaving the game and Barnesville scored three times to pull away.
Yaggie was 8 of 18 passing for 123 yards and one touchdown, finding five different receivers in the game. Bernotas had three catches for 47 yards and the touchdown.
Jacob Vizenor led the ground game with 63 yards on three carries.
Breckenridge hosts Staples-Motley at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Cowboy Field in the regular-season finale.
