North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum lowered Richland County’s health risk level from yellow to green on Thursday, saying the county has done a good job keeping COVID-19 cases from spreading.
Richland County had been in the yellow, or moderate risk level, for a few weeks. But the governor praised both North Dakota State College of Science, the area schools and the area health officials in working to keep the virus from spreading as much as they could within the county.
The green level indicates low risk for the county with easing of restrictions.
Currently 23 counties in the state are in the green, or low risk level. Six counties, including Ransom County, which was moved there Thursday, are in the blue, new normal risk level while 24 counties remain in the yellow risk level.
