The Minnesota State High School League announced on Thursday, Oct. 8 that two spectators per participant will now be allowed to attend all MSHSL events in public school facilities this fall.
Along with athletes, performers, competitors, student workers, coaches and advisors will all be allowed a pair of spectators.
The spectators will be expected to adhere to social distancing guidelines, which includes 6 feet of separation among spectators.
House Republicans had called for the MSHSL to revisit the attendance guidelines. Multiple representatives wrote a letter to MSHSL Executive Director Erich Martens requesting a change in policy.
