
The Wahpeton Lady Huskies golf team had two golfers place in the top five and the team finished fifth Monday at the Class A East Region tournament in Grand Forks, earning a spot at the state tournament.
Wahpeton shot 377 as a team to finish fifth with the top six teams advancing. Fargo Shanley won the team title at 347, Fargo Davies was second at 350, Fargo North third at 370 and Fargo South fourth at 375.
Individually, Wahpeton’s Madison Bohn and Anaka Lysne each shot an 84 to tie for fourth place. The individual medalist was Ava Olson of Fargo Davies with an 81.
Also for Wahpeton, McKenna Koolmo shot a 103, Scout Woods 106, Halle Miller 106 and Lily Anderson 110.
The Class A state tournament will be Monday and Tuesday in Minot.
Wahpeton volleyball back in action tonight
After a two-week hiatus due to COVID 19 health concerns, the Wahpeton volleyball team is back in action tonight at home.
The Lady Huskies play Fargo Davies at 7 p.m. at Wahpeton High School.
Due to increased state restrictions for allowing fans into indoor events, there will not be any vouchers available to the public for tonight’s match.
Wahpeton has played just four matches this season, the second fewest in the Eastern Dakota Conference, only ahead of Devils Lake with three.
Huskies tennis falls to North in East Region play-in match
Fargo North defeated Wahpeton 3-2 on Monday in a Class A East Region Dual play-in match in boys tennis.
Wahpeton’s team season comes to an end. The Huskies will next compete in the East Region individual tournament Friday and Saturday in Fargo.
