The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday that the department was involved in a vehicle pursuit that began around 8:45 p.m.
The pursuit starting in Rothsay after the vehicle bearing stolen license plates were spotted.
The ensuing pursuit was appoximately 50 miles on I-94. The vehicle was brought to a stop near Barnesville after stop sticks were deployed.
The driver and passenger both fled the vehicle leading the Wilkin County Deputies on foot pursuit. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and the passenger is still at large.
Charges for the driver include fleeing a motor vehicle, controlled substance DWI, possession of controlled substances including Fentanyl, and possession of stolen property.
Both the Barnesville Police Deparment and Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the chase.
