The Wahpeton boys tennis team picked up its first win of the season Thursday with a 6-3 win over West Fargo at the Wahpeton Tennis Courts.
Wahpeton won three singles matches and all three doubles to win its first match in several years.
In singles, Douglas Burvee won 6-2, 4-6 and 10-4 in the tiebreaker at No. 3 singles. Andrew Withuski picked up a 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Alex Comings was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 6.
In doubles play, the Huskies’ No. 1 team of David Comings and Burvee won 6-0, 6-4, the No. 2 team of Jacob Bartels and Matt Comings won 6-4, 6-4 and the No. 3 team of Withuski and Alex Comings won 6-1, 7-6.
Wahpeton is now 1-3 on the season.
