
The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday prior to the team’s game with the Chicago White Sox that the game would be the final game in the booth for Bert Blyleven with the team before transitioning to a role of special assistant within the organization.
Blyleven’s new duties will include engaging fans and team partners and making special appearance on behalf of the organization throughout the year.
Blyleven started as a full-time analyst for the Twins in 1996. Since 2006, Blyleven’s work has earned 10 Fox Sports Emmy Awards.
Blyleven began is pitching career with Minnesota in 1970 and returned in 1985 to help the team win the World Series in 1987.
