The Breckenridge Senior Babe Ruth baseball team swept Norman County East-Ulen-Hitterdal on Friday to improve its winning streak to five.
Breckenridge won the first game 10-0 in 5 innings and took the second game 5-1 that was shortened by rain.
Breckenridge’s Cooper Yaggie and Emmit Vig combined on a no-hitter in the first game. Yaggie went 4 innings and struck out 9.
Carson Hought supplied the offense with 3 hits and 4 RBIs while Max Johnson added 2 hits.
Carter Haughen had not allowed a hit through 3 innings of the second game when rain caused it to end.
Jack Aigner and Jeremy Stack each had 2 hits for Breckenridge.
Breckenridge improved to 13-8 on the season and will close the regular season with a doubleheader at Hawley today beginning at 5:30 p.m.
FARGO 61s WIN STATE CAL RIPKEN TOURNAMENT
The Fargo 61s captured the Cal Ripken 12U State Tournament held in Wahpeton over the weekend.
The 61s went undefeated in the tournament including a 14-1 win over the Bismarck Americans in Saturday’s semifinals and a 10-2 win over the Fargo Blues in the championship game.
The Grand Forks Bombers placed 3rd and the West Fargo Spikes took 5th.

TWINS USE BULLPEN TO BEAT INDIANS
Six Minnesota Twins pitchers combined on a 2-hitter and Matt Garver hit a home run in a 3-1 win over Cleveland on Sunday to give the Twins 3 wins in the 4-game series.
The Twins are now 7-2 to start the abbreviated schedule.
With Homer Bailey sidelined with a sore arm, Minnesota went to the bullpen from the start and no pitcher worked more than 2 2/3 innings. Each of the 6 pitchers struck out at least 1 batter and combined for 10 strikeouts in the game.
The Twins conclude their 8-game homestand with 2 games against Pittsburgh starting with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. on KBMW with the first pitch at 7:10.
