DESCRIPTION:A Christmas-themed evening of fine entertainment and food with the Jamestown Choralaires in the lobby of the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the University of Jamestown campus.\nDoors will open for seating and social at 6:30 p.m. with the concert starting at 7 p.m. A three-course meal will be catered by Sodexo and served by the Choralaires\, along with sets of Christmas songs performed by the Choralaries as well as individuals/small groups between the meal courses.\nThis project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts\, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.\nAdvanced reserved seating tickets can be purchased at Looysen I Care\, 821 1 Ave. S\, during their regular business hours.\nThe cost per ticket is $40.

DESCRIPTION:Knights of Columbus in Jamestown is hosting a chess tournament for kids & adults!\nThe tournament is being run by JHS & JMS chess clubs. The tournament will begin at 9:30 A.M. with kid and adult divisions. Cost is $5 for adults\, $1 for kids – money going toward chess supplies and travel expenses to take JHS & JMS students to the state chess tournament in Bismarck in the spring. Prizes will be awarded for winners in each category.\nThere will be 5 rounds for both kids & adults. Adults will be on a timer (30 minutes for each competitor – rare to run out of time). Depending on speed of rounds\, we will break for lunch and finish last rounds after lunch.\nWe’re looking for a lot of people to participate in this newer sort of event in Jamestown! More than 100 games could be played at a time!

DESCRIPTION:This exhibit features twenty-seven works by Dan Smith. Dan is from Nanson\, ND and has been a professional photographer since 1972.\nWhen Sally Jeppson scheduled this exhibition she was thinking about winter\, about how many of us might be dreaming of warm days and the basketball court or any warm weather outdoor sport. And of course\, there is the Midwestern obsession with small-town basketball and all the “madness” that goes with it. I thought the exhibit might appeal to some who don’t generally come to see our art exhibits.
