Breckenridge Post 53 saw its four-game win streak come to a halt Monday after an 8-2 loss to New York Mills.
The Eagles used a six-run fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie, outhitting Breckenridge 10-4 in the contest. New York Mills committed just one error in the field and Breckenridge committed two.
Finn Roder was the catalyst for New York Mills, pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts. Roder surrendered two earned runs on a walk and four hits. He also contributed a pair of singles and scored twice at the plate.
Bergan Roder and Grady Roberts had two RBIs each for the victors.
Connor Ernst was the only Breckenridge player with two hits, including a double. Trey Vogelbacher also doubled and tallied two RBIs, while Breckin Anderson singled and scored once. Cooper Roberts added a run.
Breckenridge starter Charlie Kratcha held the Eagles to one run through two innings. The righty worked around four hits and a walk while fanning two. Gabe Armitage also worked around five baserunners across two innings, allowing one run as New York Mills scored in the bottom of the fourth to tie the contest.
The Eagles got to the Breckenridge bullpen in the fifth. Vogelbacher surrendered six runs on six combined walks and hits. He was relieved after recording one out. Keaton Butts closed the contest for Post 53 by tossing a scoreless sixth.
Breckenridge fell to 9-4-1. New York Mills’ complete record and statistics are unavailable on the team’s official stat page.
