The fourth-seeded Breckenridge Cowboys moved on to the Section 6A Semifinals with a 65-47 win over fifth-seeded Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, avenging a nine-point home loss in the regular season. Saturday’s win sends the 22-6 Breckenridge squad to Perham to face top-seeded, 28-0 Henning.

Cooper Roberts tallied a dozen in each half for a game-high 24 points. The senior’s transition dunk in traffic gave Breckenridge a 23-10 lead they wouldn’t relinquish, as Hillcrest couldn’t get closer than six for the remainder of the contest. Roberts completed the double-double with a game-high 14 rebounds.

Senior forward Levi Christensen slowed down a sizable Comets offense in the paint while scoring 11 points himself. Junior guard Aidan Sanchez added seven points. The tandem of Jaxson Riggs and Hunter Bogenreif helped stifle the Comets’ interior play.

Complete statistics for both teams were unavailable as of press time.

Breckenridge and Henning square off at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Perham. The winner advances to the section title game Friday at Concordia College. Hillcrest, who entered the quarterfinals as the No. 14 team in the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Poll, ends the season with a 22-6 record.
