Following their third ranked win of the season, a 53-50 home triumph over No. 2 Central Cass, the Wahpeton Huskies landed just outside the top five in Wednesday’s Associated Press Division “A” Boys Basketball Poll.
Wahpeton (10-4) came in at No. 6 while Central Cass (11-3) fell from second to third. Kindred (10-2) moved up a spot to second.
Shiloh Christian (13-1) and Beulah (11-2) came in at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
Four Winds-Minnewaukan (12-1) received all 17 first-place votes. The Indians’ lone loss came in their second game of the season, a 20-point setback at Wahpeton.
The Huskies’ losses this season came against top-ranked Henning (MN), Kindred, Central Cass and Oak Grove.
Hankinson (13-0) held strong at No. 4 in the Division “B” Boys Basketball Poll, one spot ahead of Bishop Ryan (12-2).
The top three Division “B” teams in order are Central McLean (16-0), Our Redeemer’s (13-1) and Ray (13-1). Central McLean received all 17 first-place votes.
