The Breckenridge Cowboys quickly shook off their first loss of the season by grinding out a 68-67 overtime win Tuesday over the Perham Yellowjackets.

Breckenridge led 38-32 at halftime and score was 59-59 at the end of regulation.

Levi Christensen led the Cowboys with a season-high 23 points and Cooper Roberts added 20. Cypress Thiel led the Yellowjackets with 25 points.

Roberts entered overtime with a 40 percent shooting clip at the foul line this season. The senior locked in and made all four of his attempts in the bonus period to keep Breckenridge unbeaten in conference play, securing a season sweep of Perham.

Roberts hit a pair of free throws with 7.3 seconds remaining to put the Cowboys up 68-64. Thiel buried a wing three with 1.9 seconds remaining to make it a one-point game, but Perham had no timeouts left to stop the clock before the buzzer sounded.

The Cowboys improved to 12-1 on the season and 7-0 in Heart O’ Lakes play. Perham is now 6-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
