Cowgirls score season-high 83 points in Border Battle win

The Breckenridge Cowgirls picked up their eighth win over the past 10 games, defeating Wahpeton 83-57 in Saturday’s annual Border Battle at North Dakota State College of Science. The point total marked a season-high scoring effort for Breckenridge. 

Senior guard Parker Yaggie was phenomenal for Breckenridge (10-6), dropping a season-high 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting. Sophomore forward Claire Woods led Wahpeton (5-6) with 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

Breckenridge received 20 points from senior sharpshooter Johnica Bernotas, who connected on 4 of 5 three-point attempts. Sienna Fobb and Ava Jaehning scored seven points each, while Piper Jaehning and Emily Gowin combined for a dozen.

Joining Woods in double figures for the Lady Huskies was Piper Nelson and Ashlynne Max with 10 points apiece.
