The Breckenridge Cowgirls watched a 9-0 lead evaporate Tuesday night in a 70-55 home loss to the Perham Yellowjackets.
Perham called a timeout after the opening onslaught, and immediately caught fire with six three-pointers during an 18-0 run, taking a 38-20 lead into the half.
Breckenridge cut the lead to 13 in the second half, but Perham kept disrupting passes and turning the Cowgirls over to build a 20-plus point advantage.
Kaia Anderson led the Yellowjackets with a game-high 25 points.
The Cowgirls were led by 11 points each from Johnica Bernotas and Parker Yaggie. Ava Jaehning chipped in seven points while doing a nice job of breaking the full-court press.
Defensively, Mariah Koltes had a solid game in the post for Breckenridge with three blocked shots.
The Cowgirls (8-6) head to Dilworth-Glendon-Felton on Thursday to face the No. 5-ranked Rebels (13-1).
The No. 7-ranked Yellowjackets (12-2) host Detroit Lakes (3-6) on Thursday.
