Cowboy football finishes decorated season with awards banquet

The Breckenridge Cowboys (13-1) made their first Prep Bowl appearance in 30 years this past season, earning the football team a laundry list of hardware at the annual awards banquet.

Player of the Year Awards

Offensively, David Erlandson was named District Most Valuable Player after rushing for 2,000 yards and Cooper Roberts was named District Wide Receiver of the Year after hauling in 10 touchdowns.

Erlandson also became the school’s first All-State selection since 2010.

On defense/special teams, Henry Slettedahl was named District Defensive Lineman of the Year after leading the Cowboys run-stopping front and Charlie Eggiman was named District Special Teams Player of the Year after moving into the top-five for single-season extra points in Minnesota high school history.

All-District selections — David Erlandson (Sr. RB/LB), Henry Slettedahl (Sr. OL/DL), Levi Christensen (Sr. TE/DL), Riley Kappes (Jr. QB/LB), Tegan Abel (Sr. OL/DL), Cooper Roberts (Sr. WR/LB).

All-District honorable mentions — Kai McDonald (Sr. OL/DL), Connor Ernst (Jr. TE/LB), Tucker Snyder (Jr. OL/DL), Gabe Armitage (Sr. LB/RB).

All-Section selections — Erlandson, Roberts, Christensen, Slettedahl, Abel, Kappes and Ernst.
