Cowgirls back to .500 following consecutive wins

The Breckenridge Cowgirls (4-4) are back to .500 following Friday’s 56-35 home win over Barnesville (2-5). Breckenridge held the Trojans to 26 percent shooting and won the rebounding battle 46-32.

Emily Gowin paced the Cowgirls with 16 points, nine of them coming from beyond the arc. Parker Yaggie added 14 points and nine rebounds and a game-high five steals.

Sienna Fobb posted a season-high 10 points and seven boards to anchor the interior.

Johnica Bernotas added seven points and eight rebounds, giving the point guard 20 rebounds over the past two games.

The Cowgirls travel to Parkers Prairie for a Section 6A contest Monday night.
