The second-seeded North Dakota State College of Science football team defeated the top-seeded Rochester Yellowjackets, 37-29, to capture back-to-back Region XIII Championships, marking its third title win in four years.

The Wildcats avenged a 41-40 regular season home loss to Rochester by scoring four touchdowns in the final quarter of Saturday’s win.

Tellise Clark Jr. (18 attempts, 89 yards, TD) and Michael Douglas Jr. (18 attempts, 80 yards) led the NDSCS backfield. DeAndre Neely Jr. added 46 yards on four attempts, while turning four receptions into 49 yards.

Trevon Rodriguez found the end zone for the 12th time this season on a 23-yard pass from Jacob Mattick.

Dylon Doren and Terrell Renne sparked the NDSCS defense with a pair of picks. Doren also recovered a fumble and Gus Strommen supplied two pass breakups.

The Wildcats (10-1) now await their anticipated invitation to the NJCAA Division III National Championship. KBMW will keep listeners updated on the decision.
