The Wahpeton Huskies landed four players on the All-Eastern Dakota Conference Football Team. A trio of seniors, Luke Anderson (OL), Brayden Steffens (WR/DB) and Michael Petersen (RB/LB) joined sophomore quarterback Jack Gilbertson in receiving EDC season honors.
Anderson anchored the line on both sides of the ball, proving to be a brutal blocker in Wahpeton’s run/pass option scheme. Petersen was the workhorse back running behind Anderson for 578 yards on 126 carries.
Steffens starred out wide, turning 33 catches into 645 yards and nine touchdowns. He was also excellent at preventing the pass with three interceptions as a defensive back.
Gilbertson got the nod as a dual-threat quarterback. The stellar sophomore ran for 532 yards and six scores, adding 714 yards and nine touchdowns through the air.
