It was another solid performance by the Lady Huskies golf team Monday in the East Region Tournament at Rose Creek. Wahpeton finished the regular season in fourth place in the EDC, moving up one spot and qualifying the team for the state tournament next week at Fargo Country Club.
Senior Claire Langenwalter played excellent golf from tee to green. Claire found the fairway on nearly every hole, and when she was a little off, she still managed to get back into position to score. She had eight pars and one birdie on the day.
Langenwalter ended the round with a nice par where she found the fairway, hit a great second shot to the middle of the fairway and stuck her approach to 10 feet. A nice putt to a foot away led to a par to close out her round, sealing a sixth-place finish and All-East Region honors for the senior leader.
Ella Langenwalter didn’t feel like she played her best but she still managed to shoot 88 and put up a great score for the Huskies. Ella couldn’t get a birdie putt to drop, but did a nice job avoiding the big numbers that could have derailed her score. Ella had two pars on the day but still managed to finish in the top 20.
Brooke Rosenberg recorded seven pars on her way to a 93. Rosenberg ran into a little tree trouble on a few holes but managed to post a good score.
