The North Dakota State College of Science volleyball team capped off its Travelodge Family Weekend home tournament Saturday with sweeps of Dakota County Technical and Lake Region State.
The victories vaulted the Wildcats early-season record to 7-4.
Statistics weren’t immediately available, but reigning Mon-Dak Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Sydni Roberts of Breckenridge, had a dynamite day in her libero position.
While Roberts anchored the back row, Tessa Jacobson (Wauwatosa, Wis.), Kenzy Beare (Estilline, SD) and Samara Clemente (Wolsey, SD) had strong stretches of attack on the offensive side.
Lake Region State entered Saturday’s match with a 13-4 record. The Wildcats snapped the Royals’ four-match win streak in what served as the conference opener for both programs.
NDSCS downed Lake Region in dominant fashion by taking all three sets — 25-23, 25-21 and 25-14.
