BILLINGS, Mont., Aug. 18, 2025 – R-CALF USA today launched its “Label Our Beef” campaign, a national push to reinstate mandatory country of origin labeling (MCOOL) for beef through the 2025 Farm Bill.

“American families have the right to know where their beef comes from, and American ranchers deserve a fair marketplace,” said R-CALF USA Marketing Director Jaiden Moreland. “For too long, multinational meatpackers have cashed in on a dishonest label while America’s ranchers and consumers pay the price.

“Food security is national security, and MCOOL is an America first policy about taking back control of our food system. If it’s not born, raised, and processed in the U.S., it shouldn’t be called American beef. Period.”

The campaign is designed to unite ranchers and consumers in the fight for fair markets and honest food labels. Outreach efforts will be released throughout the campaign and will include social media campaigns, a special episode of the R-CALF USA Round Up podcast, limited-edition “Label Our Beef” merchandise, and op-ed templates.

Supporters are encouraged to call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and urge their senators and representatives to include MCOOL in the 2025 Farm Bill and cosponsor the American Beef Labeling Act (S.421).
