Breckenridge Post 53 suffered a 6-2 road loss Wednesday at Pelican Rapids in American Legion Baseball. Esteban Garza went the distance for the Orange Sox to earn the complete-game win.
Garza scattered six hits across seven innings, striking out five and walking two while surrendering a pair of earned runs.
Timmy Guler posted three hits and three runs batted in.
Cooper Roberts doubled for Breckenridge’s lone extra-base hit and Logan Church stole two bases.
Church took the loss on the mound. The lefty was chased after 2 ⅓ innings, despite recording two punchouts. He allowed four runs, but only one was earned as the Post 53 defense committed five errors in the ballgame.
Breckenridge (3-2) hits the road again Monday in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Frazee.
