A force to be reckoned with, both at the plate and on the field. NDSCS sophomore Emma Johnson made her mark on the Wildcats softball program. Johnson has been named the 2025 NJCAA DIII Softball Player of the Year.
Johnson was a driving force that led NDSCS to its second World Series title in 2025.
Her performance on the mound was a great asset that pushed the Wildcats to their triumphant finale. This year, Johnson posted 12 wins and registered a 2.30 earned run average, eighth best in the nation.
Johnson also made some noise in the batter’s box. She harbored a .373 batting average across 169 at-bats. Her on-base percentage was a staggering .433 while her slugging percentage reached .615 on the year. The sophomore belted nine home runs and collected 64 RBIs.
