The Wahpeton Lady Huskies qualified their relay team for state Tuesday at the Lisbon Track Meet, while placing second in team points.
Meeting the qualifying mark was the 4×100 relay team of Hayden Matejcek, Taylor Mauch, Halle Miller and Addie Parker — dropping 1.5 seconds off their previous best time to finish third in 52.04.
Claire Woods led the field events, winning the shot put with a personal best of 38’6.5″ and placing third in discus. Halee Miller narrowly missed a state berth by half an inch, winning the long jump at 16’7.5″ and placing fourth in the 100-meter dash.
On the boys side, the 4×200 relay team of Karter Oswalt, Aiden Bontjes, Cayden Barth and Braxton Mikkelson earned silver with a time of 1:41.73, while Chandler Rickabaugh took third in the 110-meter hurdles, setting a personal record.
Luke Anderson placed top-six in the shot put and javelin.
Multiple athletes had career-best days, including Levi Flieth, who notched PRs in all four of his events and helped the boys 4×400 relay to a fourth-place finish, with all runners achieving personal-best splits.
