
The Wahpeton track and field program competed at the Dick Clay Open at University of North Dakota on Friday. The Huskies place ninth in a field of 22 teams. The Lady Huskies placed 16th in a field of 26.
Jackson DeVries got off to a hot start. The senior placed runner-up in the 400-meter dash (51.52) and fourth in the 200 meter (23.23). Treyton Mauch was also among the speediest seniors, finishing second in the 300-meter hurdles (43.60).
Luke Anderson (Jr.) finished 10th in the shot put (42’6.25”).
The 4×200 relay of DeVries, Mauch, Karter Oswalt (Fr.) and Cayden Barth (So.) claimed fourth place (1:36.75).
Claire Woods (Fr.) came through with a runner-up mark in the shot put (38’4.25”). Galyha Lopez-Lee (Sr.) also impressed with a seventh-place throw (33’01”).
Taylor Mauch (Fr.) grabbed 10th in the 200-meter dash (27.64) and Addie Parker (N/A) was 10th in the 400 meter (1:05.23).
