
The Wahpeton boys basketball team split the season series against the Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros after suffering a 65-59 home loss Tuesday.
Wahpeton won the previous matchup at Hillsboro, 65-42.
Bryce Muller led the Burros with 19 points while Tyson Leshuk scored 13 and the duo of Keithan Muller/Alexander Duffner added 12 each.
Wahpeton was led by 14 points apiece from Brayden Steffens and Jack Gilbertson. Treyton Mauch and Bjorn Kubela scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Mauch led the Huskies with seven rebounds and Kubela keyed the defense with four steals. Hillsboro outrebounded Wahpeton 33-22, attacking the offensive glass with 14 rebounds to upset the Huskies.
Wahpeton drops to 4-5 with the loss while the Burros bumped their record to 3-7 with a second straight win.
Wahpeton returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday against a Beulah Miners (8-2) team that’s won eight straight games.
