The No. 20-ranked North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) women’s basketball team hosted Ridgewater Tuesday and away with a 97-50 victory to move to 9-0 on the season.
The Wildcats were led by Maggie Westling, who had her sixth double-double in nine games with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lolo Carlow had a highly efficient night with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. Demi Van Gils (12 pts), Hailey Markel (10 pts), and McKena Koolmo (10 pts) each had double-figure scoring.
The Wildcats were dominant on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 62-16. NDSCS had 25 offensive rebounds in the game. The Wildcats travel to Gillette, WY next week to take on three tough opponents starting Thursday.
The NDSCS men’s basketball team bounced back in a big way by defeating Ridgewater in the nightcap, 127-83. The Wildcats were led in the scoring column by Jack Repscher. who had 19 points, three assists and three steals.
Jikany Deang added a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Nidas Paulauskas scored 15 points on the night, while Riley Wolf had 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from deep. Sebastian Mackey had an efficient night, going 6-of-8 and finishing with 14 points.
The Wildcats outrebounded Ridgewater, 63-43, grabbing 24 offensive rebounds along the way. The Wildcats had 27 assists to only 8 turnovers.The NDSCS men are also back in action next week in Wyoming.
