After more than a decade as athletic director and head men’s basketball coach at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, Stu Engen is moving on to a new school.
Engen was announced as an assistant coach at Idaho State, joining Head Coach Ryan Looney’s staff in the NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference. Looney had served as Engen’s assistant at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Engen posted a record of 323-60 at NDSCS after accepting the position in May of 2012. The Wildcats claimed the Region XIII title in seven of the 12 seasons and won the Mon-Dak Conference seven times as well. The Wildcats advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament under Engen in 2016.
