Huskies hit the track in Horace

The Wahpeton track and field team participated in the inaugural track meet hosted by West Fargo Horace on Thursday. The weather was less than favorable, but the Huskies competed well. Scout Woods continued to dominate the shot put and discus, winning both events. Noah Berge claimed the title in the 800-meter run and placed second in the 1600-meter run. Lucie Comstock grabbed bronze in the 1600 with a time of 5:56.53.
Jaida Fobb tied for first in the high jump and placed second in the 400-meter run. Fobb’s 5’1” jump qualified her for state competition. Elise Skovholt record a PR in of 8’9” in the pole vault to finish third. In the high jump, Halle Miller also secured a third-place spot with a leap of 15’7”.
The 4×400 boys relay of Jackson DeVries, Berge, Carter Hockert and JD Gomez were runner-up with a time of 3:50.32. All three of the Lady Huskie relays finished inside the top three, consisting of Taylor Mauch, Leah DeVries, Hayden Matejcek, Myah Anderson, Comstock, Miller and Fobb.
