The Breckenridge boys basketball team suffered a 68-28 home loss to Pelican Rapids on Tuesday.
Senior leader Jacob Kunkel went down with an injury in the opening minutes of the game and wasn’t able to return, hampering an already thin rotation.
The Cowboys trailed 24-14 and were within striking distance, but a 16-2 run before halftime broke the game open for the Vikings.
Aidan Sanchez fouled out midway through the second half and was the team’s leading scorer with seven. Cooper Roberts followed with six while also making his presence felt on the glass.
2-5 Breckenridge looks to get back on track with a 7:30 p.m. home game against Lake Park-Audubon.
