Three people were injured in a fiery crash on Sunday at Highway 13 and I-29 near Mooreton.

The crash involved two vehicles and one of the drivers had to be rescued from a burning vehicle.

A passerby that was a retired paramedic pulled over and rescued the driver before providing first aid to the driver and a passenger.

The passerby came across the accident shortly after 3 p.m.

The female passenger was flown to Fargo by Sanford Airmed with serious injuries while the male driver went to Sanford by ambulance with minor injuries. The female driver in the other vehicle is also hospitalized in Fargo with unknown injuries.

Richland County Sheriff’s deputies, along with fire departments from Mooreton and Dwight, and Breckenridge and Wyndmere Ambulance responded to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
