Miranowski Gets 30 Day Suspension

At a special city council meeting last night (Monday) City of Wahpeton Engineer Dennis Miranowski was ordered to complete 30 days suspension without pay. The meeting lasted nearly two hours. The order is part of disciplinary action against Miranowski as he faced nine charges of allegedly falsifying documents with complaints of alleged behavior by Wahpeton Mayor Steve Dale. The alleged behavior occurred on the evening of November 9th, 2021. Miranowski faced the possibility of being terminated however a motion recommending that action failed on a 3 to 5 vote. Miranowski’s suspension will conclude on January 6th, 2022.  Council President Lane Wateland stated that there are “a couple of other investigations that are ongoing for the city.” They will be conducted within the next couple of weeks. The next Wahpeton City Council meeting is scheduled for 5;00 PM on Monday, December 20th.
