The Wapheton Huskies weren’t able to put any points on the board for the first this season, losing to Fargo South Bruins 7-0 and falling to 3-3 on the season.

The Huskies had multiple chance to score, but were never able to punch the ball in. In the first half, Quarterback Blake Schaffer tried to connect with Beau Arenstein on two passes to no avail.

The Bruins scored on a 61 yard touchdown pass on the play action on busted coverage. That score and extra point would be the points scored by either team for the rest of the night.

In the second half, the Huskies weren’t ever able get move the ball down the field. Schaffer struggled all night holding on to the ball and threw an interception while in the red zone to snuff out any chances of the Huskies bouncing back.

Wapheton plays Devils Lake Firebirds next Friday with kickoff at 7:00pm on KBMW 1450.
